The accessibility of stunning landscapes from coast to mountains, and fun activities from walking, skiing and surfing in North Wales is unequalled in Great Britain. Easy to get to from anywhere in the UK, North Wales can offer so much. Here are my top five destinations that have to be seen;

1: Snowdonia National Park
Drive, walk, climb, cycle or take the train. Whichever way you decide to see this beautiful area you will be rewarded with the most breathtaking scenery and lots of photo opportunities!

2: Surf Snowdonia
A 300m man-made surf lagoon nestled in the foothills of Snowdonia National Park, this venue buzzes with all the atmosphere of a surfers’ paradise and offers the chance to get some great sporting photos.

3: All the Castles!
If you are looking or something romantic to photograph then you cannot go wrong with one of the many medieval castles in North Wales. Conwy, Caernarfon, Beaumaris, Harlech – all offer great stone walls and ancient aspects which are a joy to shoot.

4: Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways
What better than a grand old steam engine to give you photographs evocative of another time and place? The bonus on top of some great engineering shots is that you travel through some spectacular scenery too.

5: South Stack Lighthouse
Perhaps you enjoy wildlife photography. If so the nesting colonies at the South Stack cliffs offer you no end of opportunity to get rare birds in their natural habitat close up. Puffins make great subjects, but look out for rare choughs and peregrines in action.
